Mike Miller | Senior Consultant

Mike is a senior consultant with expertise in the Toyota Production System, quality and safety improvement methodology and cost saving initiatives, and has a focus on creating working environments that promote employee development.

Mike’s lean management exerience stems from a 30 year career with Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK). Mike joined TMMK almost from its inception, starting from the shopfloor and gaining experience working in assembly, powertrain machining and quality control, including receiving inspection and supplier improvement activities.

Whilst responsible for vehicle performance testing, Mike was in charge of quality control, defect prevention, and root cause analysis.

Mike also held responsibilities for quality control of parts from suppliers where he participated in a range of initiatives to increase supplier performance.

Since 2020, Mike has been working as a consultant applying lean management and lean manufacturing tools in different industries.

Responsible for facilitating improvement of inspection methods with electrical transmission lines.

Mike worked within several industries helping them to improve its performance while implementing a continuous improvement culture. He has trained staff and implemented lean tools such as time studies, waste identification, reverse PFMEA, problem solving, quality control and root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky – Supplier Quality Control

In charge of the receiving inspection/quality control process including defect containment and countermeasure activity in house and at supplier. Mike also held responsibilities for the supplier development process, visiting multiple parts suppliers to problem solve defect and productivity issues. During his time in this position TMMK won the J.D. Power Platinum Plant award in 2016.
