Kazumasa is a veteran Toyota Production System leader and hands-on lean practitioner with a solid career history at Toyota Japan.
Kazumasa is a well-respected Toyota Production System consultant and kaizen expert with a 40-year working history with Toyota’s Gifu Auto Body plant in Japan. He worked in logistics, components supply, press, weld and assembly shop environments and has held several senior management roles within the organization including Assembly Plant Manager and Parts Department Manager.
His strengths lie in implementing cost reduction programs, productivity improvements, quality management and logistics optimisation through the application of TPS principles.
He has been a regular participant in Toyota’s group-wide Jishuken kaizen promotion program, visiting many Toyota plants in Japan as a TPS leader to help improve safety, quality, productivity and lead-time in these plants.
Kazumasa provides TPS and lean management training courses and seminars and plays a leading role on the Shinka Management Lean Japan Tour as a TPS sensei. He also consults globally with corporates in various industries.

Kazumasa runs TPS trainings and seminars regularly as a former Toyota senior manager. He is a veteran TPS leader and travels around the world to consult with corporates in a number of different industries. He is also a leader of Shinka Management’s lean manufacturing study trips and kaizen insight healthcare tours in his role as a TPS consultant.

Gifu Auto Body is one of the 18 Toyota group final assembly plants in Japan, which is consistently ranked the number one Toyota factory globally for its outstanding quality management and excellence. Over his 40-year career within the organisation, Kazumasa held several senior management roles in the Assembly and Parts areas. He was responsible for the designing of the plant’s current overall shopfloor layout under his role as Assembly Plant Manager. Kazumasa made remarkable contributions to the organisation in various areas including productivity and logistics improvements.
