The Lean Special Interest Group was created to increase awareness and proficiency in continuous improvement practices amongst Australian companies and to support staff involved in leading lean management initiatives within their organisations.
Purpose
The ultimate aim of the Lean Special Interest Group is to improve competitiveness of Australian companies through skills development, efficiency gains and product quality improvements. The Group is open to companies within Australian industry and is expected to be of particular interest, but not limited, to organisations engaged in manufacturing and food processing. Lean Special Interest Group networking events are run across Australia.
Content and Organisation
These networking events typically include a site tour and presentation with a focus on lean manufacturing, followed by networking for attendees. Group meetings are facilitated by Shinka Management, and supported by the Australian Industry Group and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia.
