Hamish is a business improvement consultant with over 30 years’ experience in operations management and workforce development.
Hamish is a system-driven improvement manager who has been involved with some of Australia’s top manufacturing companies within a variety of industries. Throughout his career Hamish has had a consistent focus on creating sustainable operations environments through continuous improvement of the workforce and its supporting systems.
Seeley International engaged Hamish to augment the team for the implementation of Lean Enterprise across its South Australian manufacturing sites. An extensive training program was put into place to educate both the workforce and management. This journey resulted in a world-class manufacturing facility based on lean principles, achieving a focus on kaizen, 5S and quality management within daily activities.
During his time with Futuris Automotive Systems Hamish worked on systems both within the company and the vehicle assembly plant of GM Holden and Mitsubishi Motors.
As Operations Manager of Bottle Magic Australia Hamish guided a post start-up R&D company through the journey of implementing stable systems and processes to reduce operating expenses.
Hamish has served as an Operations Officer within the Australian Defence Force. He has completed a Diploma in Production Engineering, Diploma in Management Practices, Advanced Diploma in Management, a Diploma in Personnel and Resource Management, and an Apprentice Course in Fitting and Machining.

Seeley – Manufacturing Management and Systems Development
Through this role with Seeley International, Hamish led the development of operations systems, MRP, MES and TPM to create a world-class manufacturing system, and introduced lean principles to operations management and the entire workforce with a focus on kaizen and 5S.
Production engineering support to small organisations to support development and continuous improvement of production systems and capital equipment utilisation. Carrying out feasibility studies on the integration of current small facilities into larger greenfield sites.
Futuris Automotive Interiors – Continuous Improvement Manager
Continuous improvement programs to increase productivity and provide sustainability to the workforce and manufacturing systems. Developing all staff in lean principles utilising 5S, kaizen, six sigma and 8D problem solving techniques.
Bottle Magic Australia – Operations Manager
Hamish created a sustainable manufacturing system within a self-managed work team environment. This included all process SOPs from procurement through manufacturing to distribution, and involved leading training in continuous improvement tools including kaizen, 5S and TPM.
Philmac – Production Engineering and Manufacturing Management
Hamish redesigned the layout of the manufacturing and distribution plan to maximise flow and increase productivity. Developed and trained the workforce in TQM, 5S and self-managed work teams. Sourcing and commissioning of MES and capital equipment to increase capability and capacity.
