Fernando is a senior lean manufacturing consultant with experience through his roles in the global food manufacturer Nestle and aerospace giant ENAER.
Fernando has a strong ability to cater the lean strategy and applicable tools to the client in accordance to company objectives and improvement opportunities. He prioritizes and implements the methodology of lean so that targets cascade down to link with meaningful improvement in each team based on standardization and problem solving.
Fernando spent one year in Japan learning directly from many of the world’s best lean companies such as Toyota, Nissan and their supply chains. This immersion into levels of excellence rarely seen outside of Japan opened his awareness to the potential for improvement in his roles as a manager and now lean manufacturing consultant.
Part of Fernando’s experience in Nestle included the full roll-out of the Nestle Continuous Excellence framework to all departments. This experience was fundamental in developing his ability to adapt the application of lean to new and differing work environments and needs.

Lean Manufacturing Consultant
Developed continuous improvement models and roll-out plans tailored to client needs and company size. Facilitated the TPM pillars and implemented the lean tools according to the diagnosed requirements of improvement.
Nestle (Chile) – Lean Value Stream Manager
Led the implementation of the lean enterprise initiative in Nestle Chile providing support in the LATAM region. Facilitated the implementation of TPM in two factories – Culinary and Dairy.
ENAER – Lean Manufacturing Project Leader
Led the planning, training, execution, control and monitoring of the continuous improvement plan based on the lean manufacturing and kaizen models. Applied tools such as TPM, TQM, SMED, 5S, quality control circles, indicators of management, quality in process, and six sigma among others.
ENAER – Head of Production Control
Led the fulfillment and execution of the production program in the manufacturing division with approximately 30,000 monthly hours of work in the plant. Led the project for the continuous improvement of production management (lean manufacturing).
ENAER – Process Engineer
Created work routings in various production processes. In charge of the Parts Manufacturing Program for the Lockheed Martin Company USA F-16 aircraft. Acted as ENAER representative for Lockheed Martin reporting to the Manager of Sub Contracts ensuring the progress in quality, delivery, supply chain and program advancement.
